And does anyone know how to manipulate this pic in Photoshop so that it appears in Plat/White Gold??

I cant help you out with the platinum makeover but I can offer you my opinion. I hope it’s okay for me to speak honestly without offending - I personally wouldn't chose this particular setting only because I’m not fond of design (shank?band?) having a broader front with lines thru it. I tend to like clean even lines and smother textures. I guess I don't see a purpose for this design or see how it flatters. Maybe too it’s the size of the stone in this picture but I think it makes the diamond appear smaller. Hope that was gentle enough.

hi ktse, have you tried it on? i think it's very important to try it on. when i was shopping for my setting, what looks good in the pix doesn't necessarily looks good on my finger. and i agree with bella, in the pix, the center stone looks small (maybe it is small, maybe .25 or .5ct?) so it also depends on how big your center stone is. |

I like the look and in fact wear the look of the ring shank. I have a couple of pictures of mine in platinum, but is has a side diamond on each side.

Now if you can get someone in photoshop to take out the side stones, you'll be all set. ![]()

Jan Yours is very pretty and of course the gargantuan stones help but the thing I’m saying is that the other picture has lines engraved into the shank and it looks odd. In fact I can only equate it to linoleum flooring that has texture or floral scroll designs as an attempt to make a more expensive statement but doesn't appeal to me - in the end it makes me think that the extra detail was added to detract from the fact that the product is less expensive ![]() I think a different setting would do a nice stone like that much more justice. Then maybe have a wedding band with engraved or design detail similar to that e-ring setting. Then the design wouldn't be drawing away from a nice stone. |

I guess my opinion is closer to Bella's on this one. And I have to agree with Sopapia too -- trying on is a must. Jan your ring is very pretty, but so different because the stones are so large, I can't really see the band at all. |

Thanks Steve!
Great pic alteration!! A million thanks! So you ladies don't like it huh? Hmm... Well my stone will likely be about 0.75 ct and if I narrow the band a bit, maybe it will look better. Haven't settled on anything yet...originally, I wanted the Cartier solitaire setting but I saw it in person this weekend and I thought it looked to 'delicate'. Blackpearl had a custom design of a Cartier which looked more hefty. And now I'm also considering something similar to the Vatche x-prong too... The men have it tough I tell ya! K |

I found the accompanying description for this setting
"A perfect example of subtle styling ques, which allow the splendor of this .40ct. round brilliant diamond to shine. The banding has a top width of 4.25mm and tapers to 3.0mm base. It is also divided by a groove and the solitaire is caressed by a 4 pronged setting. Glimmering, this diamond will demonstrate its I1 clarity and HI colour without lapse." |

ROFL
I wouldn't want *my* diamond to demonstrate it's I1 clairity without lapse! Funny how sellers can market something like an I1 to make it sound like it's the best of the best! |

Not a problem, glad I could help. If you have photoshop and just want to change it from yellow to platinum, change it to a black and white photo (discard the color info)
