Thank you for posting that photo! My EightStar has a "natural" and an "indented natural" but I have not seem them close up. They seem to have no deliterious effect on the light performance of the stone.

Hey... do Man-made stones have lines or grainies like that? I'm asking because I still haven't gotten that big red stone of mine checked out, and I noticed it has a sort of pattern internally.

The pattern that you see on the picture that I posted is only going to be found on a natural diamond. If you are noticing a pattern on a red stone that is unknown there are alot of posibilitys that could be causing it such as color zoning or angular growth struture if it is a ruby, however the best thing you can do is take it to a gemologist to get it checked out. If its a loose stone they should be able to test it while you wait.....provided they are not behind on appraisals like I always seem to be.......sorry I couldn't be more help......Erik
