Upset at my new ring
Quote this post and reply to it Post#1 @ 09-19-10 , 12:22 AM

My fiance just proposed to me tonight and presented me with a diamond ring from Kay. When we were shopping, all the rings they had at the store were a size 6, I wear a size 10 (tall girl hands). I was so happy with the ring when I first put it on and after a few hours I noticed that the bottom of the shank was REALLY skinny and uneven in thickness. It's about the same thickness as a dime. (about 1mm, right?) and the enhancer band that he purchased to match it is even thinner (and also uneven) I am taking the ring back tomorrow for them to fix it, but my question is how thick should the shank be? I want to have a little ammo in case the try and tell me the ring is fine even though it clear is not.

Hi purplepeep!

Welcome

I hope you can post some pictures so that we can see what's wrong with your ring.

The shank should be not to thin or too thick, just appropriate for the ring size. If it's uneven in shape and thickness, you should tell them that you're completely unsatisfied with the ring.

They'll fix that., so don't worry cheer-up!
Congratulations!
