I personally never called them diamonds, i just replied to a query about where to find some cut and rough and I have both, they will not crack, fracture or chip with proper care, as with any stone of value, and is not quartz crystal, but another form of quartz growing in a nugget formation. when care and quality is put into a cut, the average joe cannot tell them from a diamond. I sell the cut stones for 125 a carat, and the rough for 25 a carat. anyone interested plmk

Aaah I love it. A dozen legitimate diamond-related topics are incexplicably declared "taboo" by the board's higher-ups (driving people to a certain better, rival board that focuses mainly on colored diamonds, but hey, its still better) and yet threads like this one, which are obviously about fradulent and/or misleading goods (river-worn quartz crystals being called "diamonds") remain on the board. And note the high number of brand-spanking-new user names discussing the product. At the very least it should be moved OUT of the diamonds area.

Nice. Real nice, people.

Hi Roslynne,

Are u still interested in buying uncut desert diamonds? my father used to work in Saudi Arabia and been able to collect some of those diamonds. I also have friends there in Dubai and that will make our transaction a lot easier.

Regards,

Marichelle

People, especially Chuck: They're either quartz or glass. Big, big difference from diamonds. And even the average person on the street would know the difference.

I'm look for uncut Saudi or Desert Diamonds of facet "as clear as possible,"
do you want to sell them. They are basically glass. formed by astroid or lighting. I love to cut them though it is very tough to get color without a microscope which I don't have. So if you are interested to sell some please let me know. Thanks, Tawa1

You probably don't know what is able to be faceted or not, but that sounds like it's not a problem if you have a box full. I might be able to tell by photo, but not sure. It would be fun to have some more to cut. Someone gave me some Saudi Diamonds years ago. I enjoyed playing around cutting them. The ability to get the color in them was not within my ability with the few I had, that's why I want to have more to cut. Even though my biggest cut didn't have much color, it is still beautiful for what it is. Do you live in the US? If so, is there a way I can get a sample of a clearer one. Please let me know if you live in the US.
Thanks, Ray

Do you still have any Saudi Diamonds left? I may be interested in a couple 1.0 Carat Stones for a set of earrings. I searched the desert when I was over in Saudi in the early 90's and collected many of these stones and had them cut. My favorite was a 6 Carat stone I had cut in a Heart Shape for my sister. I think all told I had $30.00 in it when finished.
