I always thought it was a bit of an oxymoron that people would want someone with a lot of experience to do NEW product development. You'd think after 10 years a person interested in corporate involvement would get pretty fixated on doing things a certain way. I figure that the way to approach it is to hire a bunch of high school kids who like jewelry to sit around and draw stuff all day. Pick the good stuff, fix it so that it can be manufactured and worn...voila, you're miles ahead of the competition. Better yet, have a competition open to young people with an interest in design and cull out the best stuff from them.
