What type of ring is this?

I have been wondering this for a while now and this is the only online forum community that I thought would know answers.

What is this type of ring called? I have seen many older women with this style, but I never know how to word it. It just appears gold, and the top is somewhat raised/bumpy textured. It made me curious because I saw pictures of a younger girl with one on the other day as well.

The pictures are too small so I'm guessing. I vaguely make out that the prongs are doubled and possibly split a little at the top. I've posted pictures of designs by KnoxJewelers that have double prongs. The designs overall aren't like your pictures but I wanted to show doubled prongs--is that what you mean?

I believe that is what is known as a cluster top ring. You mount the attached plate type setting into a six prong head, set a bunch of stones into it and voila--- big flash - low cash ! Of course I could be wrong and should just get new glasses...those pictures are a bit fuzzy aren't they ? Geez I hope so !
