Going rate for scrap gold? ($/gram)???
(didn't know where else to post this) sorry... What is the going rate for scrap 14K gold jewelry? I have broken 14K chains, braclets, earrings. My stash is quite heavy but has not been weighed. Where is usually the best place to take old gold in terms of resale value? I also have some old rings my grandmother wore. "old lady gawdy" Where is the best place to take these things to get the best price? |

Re: Going rate for scrap gold? ($/gram)???
I think you will get the best money by selling it on Ebay. People will bid on your scrap gold. Yesterday's price on gold was $915 for 1 ounce. 14k gold has 58.3% of gold so just calculate that off the spot price and you will have a ceiling price on your 14k scrap gold. Based on the price above 14k gold is about $18.32 a gram. Ebay is your best bet. |

Wow ! I need to sell gold on e-bay too, $18.32 per gram for 14kt ? At $915. gold that is 6% over spot.14kt. = .585 31.1 grams = troy oz |

Hold on. I make a mistake on my weight calculation. No one pays 6% over spot price on Ebay. Gold prices constantly change, right now it is at $933 an ounce. 1 troy ounce is 31.1 grams gold @933 = 14k gold $17.49 bucks Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

It also depends on the place you are located. Offers here run lower. Just sold 200 grams of 18k gold for $2,690.00 USD. It's pretty much impossible to sell 18k gold for anything over 14 dollars here. |
