Incredible Brillant cut .70ct Main Diamond set in 14k white gold prongs with a yellow 14k solid band. Near colorless, Color I, Clarity SI2+, medium girdle, 5.78mm x 3.3mm, 57% depth. Stunning Diamond-- big & wide at top, absolutely on fire reflecting light!! appraised almost $3k in 2002!
Paired with an eleven diamond wrap (one small side diamond came loose from the setting, I have not replaced). Wrap is also set in 14k gold, Top grade brilliant cut diamonds, near colorless, similar clarity.
Total over 1+ Ct in diamonds! Wrap can be worn separately and/or as the wedding band, or main diamond can be removed from solitaire ring setting & added to any base setting.
The solitaire ring was appraised by a certified gemologist (Ballard & Ballard) in 2002 for $2,900, and then we purchased the $600 wrap & had the gold soldered to the solitaire band with a small bridge on the underside of the band, for a total of $3,500.00. The price of gold THEN was $300/oz. In 2008 the price of gold has nearly tripled, at $900/oz. approximately. High quality diamonds have also increased in value. A recent verbal appraisal estimated the current value between $4,500-$4,900! Higher end if I replace the small side diamond in the wrap / wedding band.
