Very exclusive expensive ring design work.
Offset engagement ring design solves straight edge wedding ring fitting problems. Designing rings to receive straight edge wedding bands so both rings look good even when worn alone. Slightly offset design allows for a clear flat side to receive wedding bands to be worn easily, especially for those that have eternity bands and don’t want that awkward big space between their rings causing ware that cuts into the side prongs where the wedding band keeps rubbing in all the wrong places. Note the much vaunted 8 claw chaton when properly executed should have a good tapered look and the prongs should not have any kinks, a clear straight prong is what should be seen to be pleasing to the eye. Wormy looking prongs bent and twisted and tormented to get the stone in are a disgrace to the industry. A clean finished piece has to be treated well from the beginning to end up like this. See how clean the mount is before the stone is installed. This helps to give a glisten to the finished piece. Even when worn alone the offset engagement ring is hardly noticeable, and fitted zigzag wedding bands are not required. Allan Creates |

Very exclusive expensive ring design work.
Thank you Snooper you are looking at the crème de la crème, this is a new design I made just recently when I doodled for ideas for TwinkleTwinkle. On that choice of layouts I had shown it with three little pear shapes (also a very sweet combination) for the shoulder, and I fell in love with that new shank possibility and chose to make it into a solitaire for now with that beautiful platinum chaton. This is the culmination of the 8 claw chaton project I showed here as I progressed thru to completion. So everybody has seen what is involved in a custom cut mounting from the loose platinum wire to the finished ring. As opposed to relying on bin bits (ready made supply parts) to assemble into the making of a ring. This is truly a new concept ring. Allan Creates |

Cool. Can you show us a picture of it with a straight wedding band? |

Very exclusive expensive ring design work.
Hi Sadie: I will try later for you as I work with a 35 mm print photo, and I am very busy in my atelier till next week. For now see the original sketch that gave birth to the whole concept I V. The wedding band would be on the yellow gold side where you see just a tip of the white gold side peeking through. The tip of the white gold end is flush with the yellow gold as the yellow side fades to the outside to bring the offset into effect. Here I used the optical illusion of the second band to fool you into not seeing the offset so much. In the other single band sketches the offset is more obvious, so adding a second band would defuse that somewhat. Ideas are never ending with active imaginations. |
