hi! here is my 2cents...I have a diamond 4 prong eternity band for my wedding band, and I LOVE it...but -- I also have a Etoile band (yes, I got married with two bands!) so I do not wear the diamond band every day, I alternate with the two bands and my engagement ring, and sometimes I wear all three together. Anyway, back to the point. I actually had to have my jeweler re-do the eternity band. It was originally a shared prong, but the stones did become loose, and I needed to size it down anyway, so he redid the ring in a 4 prong eternity band and I love it so much more. It just feels more secure in that setting, and I think the stones are protected more with the 4 prongs. Just a suggestion, you might consider, good luck!
mikesgirl - I haven't had a single problem with any of my eternity bands and I wear them every day. I have to agree with everything MIAB said though. They should be checked out atleast once a year. I wouldn't stray away from what you want because of what the jeweler told you. Even IF you did lose a small diamond from the band...it shouldn't cost you much to replace it. I love my eternity bands and I'm hard on my rings. No problems, so far! (knock on wood)
IMO, I say 'go for it!' Try them on and see if they bother your fingers. The only time I feel it is when my fingers are swollen in the height of summer (which is where I'm at now!). I tend to forget about it because I love the look of eternity bands!
I hope you get what you want and no one talks you out of it, otherwise you'll always wonder "what if....".
I LOVE your bands. I have a few 10 pointers that were a part of my grandma's wedding band that need to be reset. I really love the way these rounds are set. They appear to be shared-prong, but I can't tell for sure. I like the way you can tell they are still round diamonds..they don't just blend in together!
