The other day I saw Bazil's post on unusual wedding cakes and it made me think of posting mine. The groomsmen and bridesmaids, best man and maid of honor were all represented on the stairs. Each one of them went home with their little replica of themselves. It was a late fall wedding so we had black and white with red roses. And we even found little bridemaids with black dresses! I'd love to see everyones wedding cakes! I had to take a pic of the pic, because the 'wild thing' broke the scanner trying to scan about a hundred pennies!

This is my niece who is getting married in September. This was the bridesmaids dresses. Black velvet with a black velvet bow on the hip (the dresses wrapped) with rhinestones in the center of the bow. Being just before the holiday season I wanted my attendants to be able to wear their dresses again. And they all did to different holiday festivities. Karina, my niece, even wore hers for her senior pics. This is one of them....

http://www.konditormeister.com/ Here's the web site for our bakery. Our cake will be 3 tiers. Chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting. The whole cake is then covered in sheets of rolled white chocolate with a cascade of white chocolate shells down one side. The layers will also have some small frosting accents in the area where there are no shells to pick up the pattern of the beading on the bodice of my dress. We'll also have a scallop shell ice sculpture in the center of the hors d'oeuvre table. dd |
