Resize ring UP a size

I am preparing to propose to my girlfriend with my Grandmas old ring. the ring however is too small.probably by one size. any way to make the ring bigger?its a 70 year old gold ring with diamond ontop.

It depends on how thick the metal is. Many 70 year old rings are just too thin to work with, but if it has enough thickness, then it can be easily sized by cutting the band at the bottom and solder or welding in a small matching section of gold, then smoothing and polishing it to match. If the band is too thin, this can still be done, but will most likely break at a solder joint in short order. Do you have a picture of this ring?
