I bought this Breitling B-1 yesterday. I decided not the buy the IWC platinum, so this was a relatively modest buy in comparison, and a better cherce for me.

In Nov 03 the new model comes out and will be $400 higher, or more if the dollar continues in the terlet in value to the Euro. So I decided not to wait. The new model will contain an "improved" quartz module, but at 1 sec a month accuracy, I will have to endure it. I put it on an aftermarket rubber strap ($28) but have the official Breitling SS bracelet in reserve.

I don't have a telescope, but it's something I'm thinking of looking into.

There is an upper and lower digital display window which shows the day, time, day of week, month and year, alternatively. Also UTC, a 2nd time zone, 2 alarms, and backlight.

It has a slide rule inside the bezel which is rotated by turning the bezel. There is a clever reductio gear system which rotates the slide rule scale at a reduced rate compared to the rate of turning the bezel. Very cool.

Yes indeed RM, it is certainly a cool watch. It is quite 'handsome' looking.

Good luck with it and please do wear it in the best of health
