Question about Native Silver
This guy wants to sell me some native silver. The spot price on silver is about $11.00-$11.30 an ounce. How much should I offer him? I never dealt with native silver before and I want to melt it and sell in bars of 1 kilo. Can anyone give me some insight on how I should proceed? |

I'd get an adequate assay before doing anything. "Native" silver is often a natural alloy of silver and a lot of other things, including mercury. Sniff a little of that stuff while melting it and you will regret it...permanently. On the other hand if it is in the form of attractive crystals it may have a higher mineralogical value as specimens than it does as ingots. |
