This is my new purchase. The appraisal says they are South Sea, with pink undertones. They look very pink in the pictures! 9mm...again, from my friend's pawn shop. I wasn't into pearls until I saw these, and now I wear them almost every day. Now I need matching earrings! |

Wow, kerda--those pink pearls are great!! And, they're 9 mm, a beefy size :-)

Oh Annie I am so jealous of your pawn shop! |
|

Today I got my very first strand of pearls, purchased with birthday money from my grandmother. They are freshwater pearls in a mix of cream and pink colours with a 14k clasp from www.ice.com . I also got the pearl earrings I bought from Kerda today, so they're in the picture too (Thanks Kerda!) I just love pearls!!!!!

Last month, I went to an estate sale and I bought a 14K pearl ring. It appears to be 1950's-1960's vintage. Usually, I don't care to wear rings which stick up high off my finger, but I fell for this one. It had an old yellowish pearl with low luster, so at a recent gem show, I bought a beautiful round Chinese freshwater pearl from my favorite pearl dealer. He has a reputation for honesty and fair prices. This new pearl has high luster and is close to 100% nacre, and it cost $30! I had it mounted in the ring. The ring is well made and very comfortable on the finger. I like it a lot, but my husband doesn't :-( He says it sticks up too high off my finger ;-) |

My pearls
The strand above was from my favorite pearl dealer on ebay. 17" in length, 8 to 10 mm, but they look bigger because they're so lustrous. And I love the colors - they're so varied. I just bought this strand as well, it was much less expensive - all freshwater pearls of natural colors. 18" in length. I love multi color strands. |

would you believe these colors are real!!
same dealer, lime green and a purplish bronze. |

That's a beauty. You should try to make it yours Itbit. WHERE on earth did you find that? It's a beauty. By the way, you won't believe this...but I just posted my pearl ring in the classified section. I don't wear it much and think someone else could get more use out of it. |
