What does the metal mark 993z mean?

I have an antique topaz ring and needed a little help figuring out what the markings mean. The ring is gold and "silver" in color. It is marked 18k and 993z I have never seen 993z marked on any jewelery before and have had no luck on google. Does anyone know what 993z means? Thanks!

Not sure, it could be the manufacturing mark on it versus metal content. I know sterling silver is 925.
