Hi,

I''ve been offered a diamond by a friend in the US and I wanted to know, generally, what I should be paying for it.

The diamond is a 1.00 CT Princess Cut, GIA certified stone.

The gradings are:

Shape and cutting style: Rectangular Modified, Brilliant
Measurements: 5.78 x 5.43 x 3.86 mm
Weight: 1.00 Carat
Proportions:
Depth: 71.1%
Table: 74%
Girdle: Extremeley Thin to Thick
Cutlet: None
Finish:
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Clarity Grade: SI1
Color Garde: H
Fourescence: Good

This hopefully will be the stone for my girlfriends' engagement ring and whilst I know my friend won't rip me off, I'm not convinced that his source for the valuation is reputable!!

If anybody could help, i'd really appreciate it!!
