Royal Asscher Diamond Ring - GIA Certificate

I am selling my engagement ring. I had purchased the diamond from another seller. I have all the paperwork such as the GIA certificate and appraisal from 2002 (which was appraised for the diamond only at $10,000 - it would be worth more today). It's a Royal Asscher cut diamond. It's authenticated by the Royal Asscher Diamond Company in the Netherlands. This is not a traditional asscher cut diamond. Google ROYAL ASSCHER CUT DIAMOND and you will find that these diamonds are known for exceptional craftsmanship. They are in limited supply and are sold solely by authorized distributors. They are generally priced 20% higher than an asscher cut diamond. Neiman Marcus is currently selling two comparable Royal Asscher diamond rings over the Internet valued at $12,250 each! Royal Asscher diamonds are cut to a 74 facet step-cut octagon and have a majesty and sophistication all their own, embodying the elegance of an earlier age. Royal Asscher diamonds have a stepped square cut with cropped corners, meant to draw the eye in to the center of the diamond. The platinum setting ring has baguette and brilliant cut diamonds totaling 0.30 carats. I do not know the clarity of the diamonds but the ring is guaranteed to be platinum. Pictures include a side ring that is not offered in this listing. This listing is for the Royal Asscher diamond ring only. However, what I'm discounting is mainly the Royal Asscher diamond. You cannot find these diamonds at your typical jeweler. Do your research. Royal Asscher diamonds have a higher crown and smaller table and wider corners than the square emerald cut diamonds. They also have 74 facets versus the traditional asscher cut of 58 facets. This makes the stone emit more flashes of colored light. You will have to see it to appreciate the remarkable and beautiful cut of the Royal Asscher diamond. All that said, you will rarely see this diamond sold at a discount.
