Can a chipped diamond be insured?
Hello All, I have recently received an engagement ring from my future mother in law. I had it officially appraised, but it has a small chip in it. I have recently found out that my insurance company will no longer insure it. Are their any insurance companies that anyone knows of that will insure it as is (est. value $6000) or do I need to get it fixed and then try to get it insured again? Thanks for any suggestions! |

You can try Jewelers Mutual. We like them pretty well and recommend that over homeowners insurance because they replace items with like and kind without sending you to "preferred vendors". Here is the link. Not sure if they insure chipped diamonds but it is worth a try. ![]() http://www.jewelersmutual.com/home.aspx |
