OH Annie!! That is one stunning, totally fab ring. I just hope your fellow give it to you soon!! It's so beautiful, and I don't know how it is possible but that cushion looks even better set.

I'm back from a wonderful four day weekend, and here's the news:

I'm engaged!!!!

The dear fiance did not wait long, and I now have my beautiful ring safely on my finger!

Our family and friends are thrilled with the news, and I'm having a good time telling everyone.

I'm so happy with my ring. It's beautiful, and I think I made a great choice.

The bad news is that I currently have no camera to take hand shots.

The fiance can't find his camera, and I don't own one. I'm going to see him next weekend (I'm working out of town this summer) and trust me, I'm going to search his apartment up and down to find that camera.

Oh Annie - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am sooo pleased that you have it on - a beautiful ring like that can't sit somewhere in a box - it needs to be shown off! I am wiggling about in my seat right now - it's so exciting!!

Sounds like your summer will be sweet torture - but just imagine how great it will be when you are back together. I am sure the yellow cushion will keep you warm...

ANNIE! OMG CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm so happy for you and now, FINALLY you can share the news w/ your friends and family!

Didn't we think that there was a possibility of your now fiance proposing AFTER he saw how gorgeous your ER was!! I'm glad he didn't wait too long, it was too pretty, like Ruby said, to be kept in a box!!

I like the band to be thin. I think it makes the diamond look bigger.

It does seem like a fun job David, but it seems to make you vulnerable to getting hit by taxi cabs....

Story time - Got much longer than I expected, sorry:

UPS was having some issues getting my ring to my now fiance's house in a reasonable time frame. It was supposed to be there at 10:30am, so when it wasn't there by noon when I went to lunch, I called Marc (David's brother) to get the tracking number. Marc gave me the number and told me to call him when it was delivered, thinking it would surely be there before he left for the day - nice guy by the way!

Six hours and three calls to UPS later, the ring was safely delivered.

I figured I should still call DBL. David answered and listened politely while I talked at him for a good 20 seconds, and then said, "Annie, I'll call you back." About 10 minutes later, a much calmer David gave me a call and explained what was up -

Apparently the phone had forwarded to David's cell, which he had answered while he was riding his bike down 8th Ave. During the time I was rambling at him, he managed to avoid more than one cab which seemed to have it out for him - while his friends apparently looked on and laughed.

Moral of the story - Sure David's job sounds like a good time, but it's not without it's dangers

Also, it's sometimes best to let your phone go to voice mail...
