I know that sometimes women wear their weddng set on their right hand. OK, but in this case, are there still any rules (customes, "language") of a finger? Would this funny rule "available- not interested-occupied-not anymore" work also for this case? |

Mmm..don't know, I just wear mine on my right when...
The knuckles on my left swell up too much for the rings to fit comfortably. Happens every summer, my left hand is 6 3/4 but the knuckle can go up to an 11. win P.S. I have arthritis. |

I've actually seen a lot of women wear their wedding sets on their right hands. I know in some countries, that is the custom. Have you ever noticed that Katie Couric wears her original wedding set on her right hand? I also know some women who are left handed wear it on the right hand, especially if they work a lot with their hands. As for special rules and customs, etc., I don't know. |

I agree with everything that's been posted. In the US it's the norm to be on the left hand, but for comfort (some people like the fit of rings better on one hand over the other... usually the dominant hand is a little bigger) or any other reason it's your choice to wear the ring where you like. Some married women don't even wear any rings on the finger and some also just wear the E-ring even though it's also tradition to wear a wedding band behind it. Or some women wear both the E-ring and the band but wear the band out and the E-ring closest to the finger. (did all that make sense?) Anyway, I say wear it where you like and where you think it feels best.

That's so true... seems like there is no "right" way anymore to wear your rings. I've been wearing just my e-ring lately and it drives my mother CRAZY! "It looks like you're just engaged and not married." My response, "Who cares what other people think?" Where what is comfortable and where it is comfortable!

I am right handed so I happily wear it on my left as I know it gets less wear. |

i don't have one yet but....
i am left handed and i'm also a mail sorter (in australia) and i need to put the mail into the private boxes each morning, so when i get my ring, i will most probably wear the engagement ring on my right hand when i'm at work, and put it back on my left after my shift finishes. |
