Start sculpting gemstones, HELP!!!

hello everyone! I want to start one of my childhoods dream: SCUPTING GEMSTONES!! I dont know where to start from... which machine should I first buy, i heard about a dremel tool... where should i buy my rough material from?? which health security tool do i need to stay alive and not breathe the toxic dust Are there any great books or dvd on sculpting gemstones thanx so much for ur help |

Sorry, I don't know anything about lapidary work or gem cutting. If you're looking for info on lapidary work, you could PM castocreations. I know her grandparents are skilled artists, and she makes some beautiful jewelry too.
