Resizing Men's Platinum wedding band

Hi all, I've lost weight since I ordered my wedding band. As a consequence, I decided to visit my jeweler and discovered that it needs to be re-sized down by 1 size. The ring is a platinum plain curved 7mm wide 1.5 mm thick. Jeweler said they would use a press to reduce it. I have a few question regarding this process. 1. Should this process alter the width or thickness (even by a minuscule amount)? 2. Should the ring weigh more, less or the same? Any other considerations? Thanks. Ian |
