Hi, I hit an estate sale this weekend. The guy was an avid collector, and had boxes on boxes of coppper mine minerals. I bought a couple pieces, and went home. Then got the idea mabey they would sell the whole lot. I was too late  ( someone got the garage full of boxes of wonderful minerals for 40 dollars!! I was sooo mad. I did manage to get just a couple pieces,a jar of peridots and some huge tiger eye cabochons, but will toss in my sleep for a long time for missing out on this.(bags of turquise,blue lapis,huge 50 pound crystals etc) Any way, here are three specimens that I am unsure of. Can anyone help? Ama |

That was the first one, I think it is azurite but not sure. Here is the next one. |

The yellow stone is VERY light. One is opaque and the other is yellow opaque but in cubes crystal form. It is not letting me oad the third picture grrr, but it is rusty blood red rock, with green metalic crystals that grow over the surface. I suspect from oxidation, but do not know what it is. the first one could be azure-malachite Malachite is still very popular among mineral collectors, especially interestingly shaped and banded specimens. It is also used as an ore of copper and crushed to make a green pigment. Malachite is usually found with azurite, a blue secondary mineral of copper, but its more widespread and abundant. Some mineral samples have alternating bands of green malachite and blue azurite, forming what is commonly known in the gem and mineral trade as Azure-malachite. The second one looks like sulfer but I dont think sulfer is associated with copper deposits. You may want to talk a look at a mineral identification book and check to see if it has a chaper under copper minerals. |

Hey! Just answering which mineral i Like... And there is Azurite/malachite!!! Sulphur is on the second pic, though not a very sharp one. Sulphur is very soft (MOHS ±2). Pure sulphur found in salt domes, with copper it is bonded to it in mineralassociations like bornite/chalcopyrite or bornite/covelite/chalcopyrite |

Hey I have a large rock like your first one so I guess it's Azurite/malachite I collected it when I was a kid in utah and I want to sell it amongst many other rockhound collectibles but don't know where to do that. Did you ever find out where to do that with yours |

I would look into your local calendar online for things like rock shows. Look at ebay and see what others sell them for. I have never sold anything, so not sure but these are routes that I would take. |
