As I was working at the bra store today around 3PM EST, just across the street from my work place at a Toys'R'Us in Madison Heights, Michigan, a 3 1/2 year old girl named Jenna Hart was abducted. She has blond hair and blue eyes. I am trying to find a picture to post. She was with her grandmother. They emerged from Toys'R'Us to find a flat tire on their car, which the police speculate was a set-up. An African American man in his 50's approached and offered to change the flat tire. He put the doughnut tire on the car, then got in and drove off with little Jenna Hart in the vehicle. It was a maroon 2001 Mercury Sable with a Michigan License Plate #: 1EQ F56 |

OMG Cass, this world is so full of sickos! Right under our noses sometimes... I sure hope they find her and catch this guy.

One good thing is that the mas was obviously hanging around the parking lot in order to put together that set up. Hopefully they'll have him on camera. |

OMG, I hate hearing these things. I will say a prayer that she comes home safely. My little one is four and this kind of thing scares the heck out of me! |

I can't believe it happened while I was at work and so close. I would have done something very drastic to him (the abductor) had I been in the parking lot at the time. Tomorrow Aaron and I are going into downtown, and I'll be on the look out for the vehicle. If you all could, just pass this message around to as many people as you can. It may find its way back to someone who knows the man who abducted her and could turn him in. |

They announced it on the national news this morning but they didn't give the plate #. They told people to look for a Mercury Sable with "potentially" a little girl in it. Hope they don't waste too much time on the wrong vehicles. They should have broadcast the plate #. |

Missing Girl Found Safe In Detroit Father: 'I Am Absolutely Ecstatic' Posted: 7:41 p.m. EDT May 3, 2003 Updated: 2:59 p.m. EDT May 4, 2003 MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. -- A 3-year-old girl who was in a car stolen from outside a suburban Toys R Us store was found nearly a day later in Detroit, according to the girl's father. According to broadcast reports, Jenna Hart of Lathrup Village was found early Sunday afternoon near highway Michigan 10 and Seldon. She had been missing since about 3 p.m. Saturday. Detroit police say they received an anonymous tip at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday about the girl's location. "I am absolutely ecstatic," Jenna's father, Doug Hart, told WWJ-AM shortly after getting the news that his daughter was found. "I can't even express in words all the emotions that have gone through our minds over the past 24 hours." Jenna was taken to an area hospital to be examined, but the family was told she appeared to be unharmed, Hart said. "I didn't want to be a statistic, I'm just so glad we're not," he said. "This is what needs to happen when something like this happens." A man approached Jenna's grandmother outside the toy store Saturday afternoon, pointed out that her car had a flat tire and offered to help change it, Madison Heights police said. The grandmother placed Jenna in the back seat. The man, who had access to the keys, drove off with the little girl inside, police said. "We're not sure if the suspect intended to take the young child away with him," Police Chief Kevin M. Sagan said. The girl's grandmother said she does not believe the tire was flat when she left the car and went into the store. Investigators believe the tire may have been intentionally damaged by the suspect and that the woman was set up, Local 4 reported. Michigan State Police issued an Amber Alert notifying Detroit-area news media of the abduction at 4:20 p.m. Saturday. The suspect is still at large. He's described as an African-Amercan man about 50 years old, with salt-and- pepper hair, 6-feet, 1-inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a baseball cap and a leather jacket when the grandmother last saw him, police said. The suspect is driving a 2001 Maroon Mercury Sable with Michigan license plate 1EQF56. The car has damage to the passenger side mirror and has the "doughnut" spare tire on the front passenger side. "Amber Alert" programs used in California and 40 other states are named after Amber Hagerman, a 9-year-old girl who was abducted in Arlington, Texas, and later found slain. http://www.clickondetroit.com/det/n...503-180509.html |
