My fiancee picked out a diamond engagement ring at Tiffanys, but alas it is too expensive. I would like a jewler to recreate the ring, but the jewlers I have approached need a picture of the ring in order to create a copy (which makes sense to me). Unfortunately, Tiffanys does not have a picture of the ring in its catalogue or on its website. Does anyone know where I might find pictures of or, better still, specifications for Tiffanys settings? I am interested in a ring that has a round center stone and two small marquis stones on the sides. The marquis run lengthwise along the band. Like this <>X<>

Many thanks for any help you can provide.

I would think that any good jeweler could take that description and go from there. Its seems quite simple I would think.

If you need a pic, try creating the ring here: http://www.adiamondisforever.com /

You might want to check out www.tradeshop.com
They have tons of rings posted and you just might be able to find her *dream* ring. Give yourself a few days to peruse this site, there are literally 100's of rings. You may wish to begin with the *custom* albums and go from there.

Keep us posted!

Ray at tradeshop does excellent work. Joe Bacon who also posts around here, as well as SteveL also do custom work. If it's a pretty simple design, I'm sure that a jeweler could make it from even a drawing.

However, I challenge you and your fiancee to go beyond the norm. I mean, who wants a ring just like everyone else's?! Maybe your fiancee likes this ring because it's the best one she's seen--but you could examine what you like about it and build on that. If you're going to have a ring custom made, why not get a custom ring? Why not get a ring that is as unique as she is?

I'm an avowed individualist, and my fiance and I designed my ring together. It's simple, but the craftsmanship is fantastic (our jeweler did a great job). I get TONS of compliments on my ring--everyone says that it's so unique and that it 'fits' my personality. Plus, we have a great story to tell about it.

We were inspired by both looking around in local stores and by the pictures on www.tradeshop.com as well as antique filigree rings I found at online antique stores and ebay. Just something to consider
.

I wish I had a picture. I don't. I'm still looking. Unfortunately, none of the suggestions I've had so far have led me to a picture of the ring I'm interested in, or for that matter a picture of a ring resembling the one I'm interested in. Please let me know if you can help.

Okay, okay. I guess if you brag long enough you gotta produce, huh? I'll get my fiance to take a digital picture tonight.
