I really want to wear a wedding ring. I have never had an official WR as my original was one piece. I ordered a $100 sapphire and diamond band from Overstock.com to see how it would look. I got it yesterday -- it's ruby and diamond! :frown2: Anyway, I took pictures anyway to see how it would look. I think I like it -- any opinions?? Any idea where I could get one similar, better quality and sapphire?

Thank you Webgal! As a matter of fact, my husband said that he thought it the WR looked overwhelmed by the ER! LOL I suppose it could be slightly bigger, but I kind of like it like this.

Thanks Ronda! I think Vatche just came out with these settings over the summer. I've had such a hard time making a decision on what setting I want, but am soooo happy I came across this one!

Thank you itbit! I do like the ruby ring, but do you think it is weird to wear a ruby ring when ruby isn't my birthstone? My daughters birthstone is ruby, but then I am leaving out my son. Although he probably doesn't care! LOL

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! And I also love that ruby band!! I know you wanted sapphire, but OH I'm totally lovin' that one just like it is! Was that a good deal? LOL I might have to check it out.

I think the style looks good with your e-ring. Like WebGal said.. it compliments well but doesn't appear to compete with it.

Can we see a profile view of your ring?

Thanks DiamLady! Yeah, it was a good deal... $100 and they're offering free shipping right now! I'm thinking about keeping it and either waiting for the sapphire to be back in stock and ordering it too, or finding something similar but better quality.

I think you're fine wearing ruby--it doesn't have to be your birthstone. I love the look. Of course it is up to you, but if it were me, I'd keep the ring and order it again in sapphire--the price is good and you can change them with your mood. I think the design goes great with your ring. :-)

I love the combo! They are both gorgeous rings and I think they compliment each other very nicely! And how about saying the ruby red is for passion and love!!

I saw that ruby ring on Overstock. I can't believe how nice it is for $100! I have never ordered jewelry other than watches on Overstock because I worry about the quality. I don't know why. The watches I have purchased were veeery nice for the price. Now you got me rethinking and possibly ordering that ring in a pink sapphire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~Ronda

I went on to Overstock.com and looked at the jewelry. For fun, I looked at a lot of items and read customer reviews for them. It is entertaining and informative...What I did notice was that quality was variable, as their jewelry comes from different sources...so I think it's important to read the customer reviews.

Just a word of warning -- it's not so comfortable. I don't know if it's the nature of this type of ring, or something to do with the craftmanship. Anyway, I'll keep wearing it, I have a high tolerance for that sort of thing. But if you don't, I'd avoid it!

Thanks LCole! I didn't think I would ever find something! I decided to wait and get the split shank for a rhr and dh thought that was a good idea, too!! So, it's on my list.

My 13 year old just saw your rings, and she LOVES them...so do I,but kiddo is picky! She also thinks the ruby band has just enough color and sparkle, not too much to compete with your e-ring.

Your Vatche ring is gorgeous! That setting gives it an antique feel. And your Overstock ring is very pretty too! I'd take a ruby ring over a saphire one any day! (My birthstone is ruby). I think that's neat that that's your daughter's birthstone. I think you should keep it. Both rings go well together too.

Maybe just order a sapphire one too! :)

WOW! I notice your fingers are a little on the "plump" side - must be all that fruit your'e eating. Might I suggest Jenny Craig? Maybe then, your husband would buy you a nicer ring.

Plump? You think? Hmmm... I always thought I had nice long average fingers. Guess I'd better lay off the fruit and slim up them fingers! Is it the Jenny Craig making you so grumpy or do you just come by it naturally? Maybe it's cause you had to sell your lovely ER (although I think I understand why you had to sell it) -- good thing you got such a great deal! :haha:

i had to get you back for trashing my ring - somehow though, it was anti-climatic but I sure did get a great laugh. Thanks for being a good sport.

LOL, I never trashed your ring!!! All I said was that you had it priced to high. I was expecting a thank you not a buzz off!! Oh well, nothing a nectarine or two won't help! :haha:

Jayrenay, I don't think your fingers are plump AT ALL!

And your ring is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!

And fruit helps you *LOSE* weight........this newbie obviously doesn't know anything about dieting......or diamonds!

Even if it was a joke, I find it in poor taste!

Negative Karma from me MorganZ!

 Amy
