Amethyst Lovers?
 

Hello all!! I just found the perfect mother's ring that I will one day pass on to my daughter and wanted to share with fellow DT'ers......My daughter was born in Feb 04 and my son in Oct 05. So, as her birthstone is Amethyst and my son's Opal....I really didn't think I would find something in a setting that complimented each other truly. So after some searching and finding that Pink Tourmaline is a alternate (not traditional) birthstone.....I stumbled onto this ring and found I had to have it!! Would love to have your thoughts on it! It's set in 14K WG, with .20ctw VS diamonds, the Amethyst is a radiant cut 8cts. and the pink tourmaline peek-a-boo stones are .20 each. I still have to have it sized since it's a little big!!! The pics are a little yellow, since I took the photos indoors.....

Oooooh it is absolutely gorgeous!! What a stunning piece not only to wear yourself but to pass onto the next lucky wearer! Congratulations on owning such a beautiful ring, purple is my mostest favouritest colour :D

Congrats on the new heirloom!! :) Gotta love that aspect of it. The setting is very pretty and the surprise stones look great. What a perfect find for you!

I too am looking for a beautiful amethyst ring..or pendant. My FH was born in Feb and I'd like to have something nice in his B-stone. Where did you find it, if I might ask?

I too have kids born in February, and October, both girls..........Vicki is 2/13, Stevie 10/22, and my soon- to be fiance has a girl born 10/22 also. Amethyst and Opal here I come!

I may get some slamming for this,...but after a long exhaustive search of my local independent stores and a few over priced "maul" stores, I found this ring on Saturday at my local Sam's Club! It was my wedding anniversary (spent it with the kids, DH is gone TDY) and I just decided to see what sparklies they had since the store also had their "Antwerp Diamond Event" going on as well.....the diamonds were great BTW....but I saw this ring and had to buy it, it was perfect....especially since I had been looking online to see if I really liked a design that I was going to contenplate having my local jeweler make for me or ask Michael E, since he had doen marvelous work on another ring I had him make 2 years ago!!! So, if you are close to a Sam's and want to take a look...they have some beautiful gemstones in some wonderful settings!!

I don't know how I missed this thread for so long. It's a very beautiful ring and I love the side detailing. As I get older, I start to like purple more. I did have a light amethyst ring with tanzanite sides, but I sold it recently because I never wore it.


It has a good home now. :)

Purple is just so purply...my sons..February and April, amethyst and diamonds work just splendidly....:)

Ya know, I really like the whole "surpise" "peek-a-boo" design. It just makes all viewing angles that much more interesting!
