Hello,
I have posted a few times about my palns for an e-ring well, my FI and I were all set to go and buy a new emerlad cut dia instead of using family heirloom stones when he sat me down and we talked and realized we need that money for grad school etc. So we are using a family stone and my parents are honored to do thsi for us so it works well BUT what should we do, when we pick a place? do they charge a set fee for setting a stone we bring in etc? Can I bring all 3 and ask which is the best stone to set or do i need a formal appraisal? Also if a stone is from the 30s and is a modern brilliant cut will it look new in a new setting?
thanks in advance:)
