My wedding set was stolen last year and we recently got it back. It was found in a pawn shop in town recently. Anyhow, my DH bought me a new set to replace the one that was stolen but now that I've got mine back and it's checked out fine, I want to sell the replacement set. Before all this happened DH and I were planning on upgrading my diamond in my old set to a 1ct round. Currently there is a .50ct round in it. So, I'd like to sell this set to finance my upgrade.

The replacement set that I have is not certified but I have an appraisal that came with it. I'm not sure how to go about selling this though and thought I'd ask for some advice here. What would be a good asking price for this set and how do I sell it?

Here is what the appraisal says about the set:

One ladies diamond engagement ring set with one emerald cut diamond weighing 1.03/100 cts, having G color VS2 clarity set into a platinum diamond setting containing 2 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing .11/100, and four tapered baguettes weighing .29/100 . Value: $9,400.00

One platinum diamond wedding band set with 3 single baguettes weighing .45/100 and 2 (this is a typo there are actually 4 rounds in the wedding band) round brilliant cut diamonds weighing .32/100 (not sure if the weight of the RB's is off because they accidentally put 2 instead of 4). Value: $2,485.00

The rings are currently a size 9 and not soldered together.
This set was appraised by De Scenza Diamonds Feb 4, 2005.
Appraisal number is 184122

Now, I have two pictures from when I bought it, they are not great quality and the ring is dirty in the pictures, but I will post some better ones asap. I need to go to my sister's house to do it since I lost the cord to my digital camera so I can't transfer from mine. I'll post the two that I have although the quality is not the best.

Re: Not sure where to post this...

I'm asking $5,000.00 for this set. I'm willing to entertain offers. I'm going to post another picture. I took more, but for some reason I can't get a good picture. Anyone know how I can get a better pic? Also, I will post appraisal papers tonight. This ring will come to you clean, polished and all prongs will be checked/tightened. The diamonds face up nice a white and are all vs2 clarity. These pictures do not do the ring justice! Thanks for your interest!

Here is another picture that kinda came out okay. I'll try to get some better ones today outside. These were taken inside under flourescent lights.
