New inlay on titanium ring...

I had a wood inlay in this ring from Bruce Boone (boonerings.com) but decided to have him change it. For the poultry sum of $15 I got this turquoise/acrylic inlay installed....

I love the turquoise inlay one!! That would match a lot of my Native American jewelry!! :)

I'm sure the turquoise acrylic one will be more durable too....I'd worry about the wood one warping if it got wet.

Cool rodentman ! I'm sitting here trying to figure out how he gets that in there in one piece. Are the two sides threaded or something like that ? I like the turquoise much better than the wood. That color really pops !

Cool ring RM,

I like both versions. Kudos to the company, that is a lot of customer service for $15.00, which would not pay for the labor to inlay the ring, clean polish, pack etc.

Michael, many years ago... I remember playing with some epoxy type resins that you can add powdered turqouise or other minerals and the results were pretty cool, this is how I think they redid RM's ring.

Ps, Michael, it just occured to me that you might be wondering how the wood version was done... I am curious about that one as well.

The ring is milled (machined?) on a CNC machine with an recessed area for the inlay. It's cut from solid bar stock, like Looie. I don't know how he does it. I like the Azurite Malachite inlay as well. Check out his website.

These have been discussed a lot on indiebride.com, how are they for wear? Any special care?

I don't give it any special care. The wood didn't take to water well, but the turquoise inlay seems inpervious. I like the look much better and it matches my Native American turquoise rings too.

The turquoise colour ring at the top is great!

It looks very stylish and I love the banding :)
